Breakout Character: Thanks to their popularity, the Gold Saints received much bigger roles in the spin-offs, like Saint Seiya: Soul of Gold or Saint Seiya: Episode.G.Badass Crew: 12 of Athena's strongest warriors.Badass Cape: Most of their cloth have long white capes.Back from the Dead: With exception of Kanon, every saint has revived at least once.are fighting on behalf of Athena, they immediately turn to their side those who continue to fight do it only because they want to test the heroes' mettle. For the most part, once they realize Seiya & Co. The rest are honestly trying to protect Athena's Sanctuary from what they believe to be evil foes ( Shura, Aldebaran, Milo, Camus, to some degree, and Shaka) or actually do help the Five-Man Band directly ( Mu). Only two of them are actual villains ( Deathmask and Aphrodite), one of them is dead ( Aeolus), another is Brainwashed and Crazy ( Aeolia), another is retired ( Dohko), and the Big Bad ( Saga) is suffering from a bad case of Split-Personality Takeover. Anti-Villain: At least half of the twelve Gold Saints are like this during the Sanctuary Arc.Animal Motifs: Somes signs are represented by animals.

Averted with Shaka, who is the only blond Gold Saint who is saved from hair dye, and because he always keeps his closed it's not immediately obvious that he has green eyes in the manga, therefore Shaka still got an eye dye, so to speak, since his eyes are blue in the original TV series. Aphrodite: was blonde in the manga, but the anime gave him light blue hair (blue-green hair in the Santuary Arc). Camus: A redhead in the manga, but the anime gave Camus blueish-green hair. Shura: Black hair in the manga, dark green in the anime. Aeolus: He was blond in the manga, had brown hair in the flashbacks of the main series. 
In the anime, Milo's hair color was modified to blueish purple.
Dohko: Black hair in the manga, but dark brown in the anime. In the anime adaptation, due to a relative excess of yellow tones in Kurumada's design, Aeolia's hair color was modified to light brown to achieve a better color balance and contrast. Aeolia: In his manga, Kurumada gave Aeolia blonde hair. 
Deathmask: Has gray hair in the manga, in the anime they made it blue.During his Split-Personality Takeover, Saga's hair becames black in the anime, it's grey and his eyes turn red.
Saga and Kanon: Both are blondes in the Manga, and blue hair in the anime. In the anime adaptation his hair was dark brown and since his back wasn't often visible, the length of his hair sometimes varied. Aldebaran: In his manga, Kurumada gave him a very long blonde hair. 
In the anime, Mu has green eyes and purple hair (pink in earlier episodes) and Shion has green hair and purple eyes.
Mu and Shion: Green-eyed blondes in the manga. Justified though, as there are too many blond Saints, so giving them wider choice of hair colors will give a better color balance and make it easier to distinguish the Saints. Adaptation Dye-Job: They all suffer of one in the anime version. A House Divided: In the Sanctuary Arc, they can be classified in three groups: The "Fake Pope supporters" (Saga, Deathmask, manga-Shura and Aphrodite), the " Just Following Orders guys" (Shaka, Milo, anime-Shura and Camus) and "Saori Kido believers" (Mu, Aldebaran, Dohko and Aeolia). The greatest and mightiest of Athena's Saints, the 12 Gold Saints are the main guardians of the Sanctuary and Athena's Praetorian Guard.
